Allows inspection of the windpipe and smaller air passages of the lungs using a flexible camera about the size of a pencil. Samples of fluid will be taken from inside the lungs and sent to the laboratory to check for any abnormalities.
This procedure, while quick and low-risk, is conducted under anesthesia in the hospital’s endoscopy unit as a same-day service.
